Behind the chair

We started small.

STUDIO · founder portrait

Gloss & Glam opened in 2026 above the old granary on Maldon High Street. What started as a one-chair side hustle out of Elise’s spare room is now a quiet, kind, two-technician studio with proper coffee and a very good playlist.

We’re a young business — and that means we sweat the details. Sterile tools every time. No acrylics, ever. Honest quotes for art before the brush touches your nail. And a chair you can actually relax in.

Frequently asked

Good things to know.

We don’t — acrylics tend to weaken the natural nail. We use soft-gel extensions instead, which are kinder, lighter and just as long-lasting.
Plan for 90 minutes for extensions with a design. Solid colour gel is around 45 minutes.
Yes — free off-street parking right outside the studio. The High Street car park is two minutes’ walk if it’s busy.
Please do. We love a Pinterest board. We’ll always tell you honestly if something won’t suit your nail shape or length.
